Why Her Trails
Her Trails brings together event-specific programming, weekly coaching, female-focused education and a community preparing for the same race weekend.
A progressive Kosci 30, 50 or 100 program built around alpine fire trail, altitude and the unpredictable Snowy Mountains weather.
Bring your training, injury, pacing, fuelling, recovery and race day questions to a live group coaching call each week. Ask live or submit your question beforehand, with replays available afterwards.
Practical education woven throughout the program on menstrual cycles, perimenopause, menopause, pelvic health, fuelling, energy availability, recovery and injury risk.
Strength, mobility and recovery practices sit inside the training program. They are not treated as optional extras or referred to another product.
Prepare alongside women taking on the same event. Share the uncertain weeks, long run lessons, questions, progress and race week anticipation with people who understand the goal.
Practise pacing, fuelling, hydration, mandatory gear, altitude management and race day logistics during the training block, before those decisions carry consequences.
A plan on its own is just numbers on a page. Her Trails turns those numbers into training you understand, support you can lean on, and a community that gets you to the start line ready.

Kosci Through the Her Trails Lens
What the course demands
Kosci's trails are predominantly wide alpine fire trail and subalpine meadow: very runnable, with one notable rocky technical descent on each course. The 100km adds technical ridgelines and likely night running.
The real challenge is altitude and weather, not terrain. You're racing up to 2,228m, in late November conditions that can swing from a near-freezing morning start to 25 degrees, then to snow, hail or a thunderstorm, sometimes all in one day.
Mandatory gear is not a formality here. A waterproof jacket, thermal layer and headlamp are things you may genuinely need.
How this program prepares you
Aerobic strength built deliberately, and race specific long runs that mirror the demands of your distance, from the introductory Kosci 30 to the full Kosci 100 crossing.
Altitude awareness, layering strategy and mandatory gear familiarity built into your training, so race morning's cold start and an afternoon storm are both things you've already trained through, not surprises.
A program that respects real life while it prepares a steady mind for a long day at altitude in the Snowy Mountains.

From The Trail
The mountain does not care what pace you ran at sea level.
Kosci's trails are largely runnable, which is exactly why altitude catches people out. Above 2,000m your effort feels harder for the same pace, and the Snowy Mountains can hand you sun, snow and a thunderstorm in the same afternoon. Respect for the mountain, not just fitness, is what gets you through.

Gear Systems for Long Trail Races
Kosci's mandatory gear list is not a formality. A practical look at building a kit system you can actually rely on when the weather turns.

Power Hiking as a Skill
On Kosci's longer climbs, an efficient hike often beats a forced jog. Why power hiking is trained, not improvised.

Kosci Through the Her Trails Lens
Kosci rewards more than fitness. It rewards runners who respect the mountain, carry the right gear and keep making sound decisions as the weather does whatever it decides to do.
What the Courses Demand
The Kosci 30, 50 and 100 use mostly wide, runnable alpine fire trail and subalpine meadow. That accessibility is part of the appeal, but it puts the real challenge somewhere other than the footing.
High alpine altitude makes effort feel harder at the same pace. Late November weather is genuinely unpredictable: a near-freezing morning start, a warm afternoon, then snow, hail or a thunderstorm, sometimes all on the same day. The 100km adds technical ridgelines, rocky descents and hours of night running for most finishers.
Across all 3 distances, the goal is not simply to run well when conditions are kind. It is to keep moving well and keep making sound decisions when the mountain changes its mind.
How Her Trails Prepares You
Each distance has its own progressive program, building aerobic fitness, power hiking strength and race specific endurance without asking you to reproduce the full race in training.
Layering strategy, mandatory gear familiarity, fuelling and pacing for altitude are practised within your training, so they are second nature before race morning.
The programming goes beyond the sessions themselves, with in depth guidance on pacing, fuelling, recovery, menstrual cycles, perimenopause and menopause, injury risk and adapting training around real life. Weekly live coaching calls give you a place to bring your own context, ask questions and work through when to maintain the plan, modify a session or step back.
