The Course

Running the Noosa Ultra-Trail 100km

The signature Noosa Ultra-Trail links five National Parks, State Forests and Reserves across the Noosa Biosphere Trail, taking in Hinterland townships, macadamia farms, mountain lookouts and diverse, undulating terrain over the full 100km distance.

While not a mountainous region, the terrain, distance and Queensland conditions demand real endurance, pacing discipline and fuelling skill sustained across a long day and night on your feet.

The Course Demands

What the race asks of you

Over 20 weeks we build the durable endurance, climbing and descending strength, fuelling discipline and mental resilience a 100km Hinterland day demands.

Sustained Aerobic Durability

Long, controlled aerobic training builds the engine that carries you through five parks and Hinterland townships without breaking down.

Terrain + Heat Adaptation

Undulating trails, forestry roads and Queensland warmth ask for heat-aware pacing and confidence across variable surfaces.

Fuelling for 100km

Consistent fuelling and hydration strategy is trained from early in the build so gut confidence is second nature by race day.

Night + Fatigue Systems

A 100km day may extend into the night. We build low-light confidence and pre-decided systems for the final, fatigue-loaded hours.

PREREQUISITES

Before You Begin

A 100km ultra is a serious commitment. This program assumes you are already running consistently and have enough endurance experience to begin a structured build.

  • Willingness to commit meaningful time to long runs, back-to-back weekends and recovery
  • Willingness to train fuelling, hydration and race-day systems, not just fitness
