This is no ordinary marathon. The Buffalo SkyMarathon delivers 1,595m ascent and 2,620m descent across ridgelines, exposed climbs, and technical descents. To meet it, you’ll need vertical strength, downhill control, resilience, and clarity. That’s exactly what our program builds.

How We Build You for Buffalo

Our 20-week program is purpose-built for Buffalo’s course profile. Every block is designed to support your performance, recovery, and readiness for the terrain ahead.

  • Phased training blocks: base endurance → climbing strength → downhill control → taper & sharpen.
  • Cycle-aware programming: intensity and recovery flow with hormonal rhythms, supporting energy and adaptation.
  • Fuel & recovery integration: each block includes nutrition, sleep, and resilience practices to prevent burnout.
  • Context coaching: weekly calls connect the “why” with the “how” so you train with clarity and purpose.
  • Real-world testing: long runs, simulation sessions, and heat prep give you confidence before race day.

The Buffalo SkyMarathon isn’t just a race: it’s a vertical, technical, and mentally demanding alpine challenge unlike anything else on the trail calendar.
